Warm Welcome to New Staff!


Eileen Ringwald – Marketing and Communications Manager, Ventura – Eileen brings over 10 years of Marketing and Graphic Design experience – notably managing websites and social media channels with image and content that builds communities.

Sandra Espino – Membership Manager, Santa Maria – Sandra is a graduate of UC Berkeley, and has worked in youth development and non-profit support in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.  She will work with five Service Units in northern Santa Barbara County.
Marcy Reed – Senior VP of Strategy and Change Management, Ventura – Marcy has been a dedicated volunteer to our organization for many years, and we are thrilled to have her expertise in this new staff position. Marcy comes to us after 13 years with Dole Food Company.

VOLUNTEER AT CAMP ARNAZ – UNITED WAY DAY OF CARING 10/3/15
Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 3. We will be participating in the annual Day of Caring sponsored by the United Way of Ventura County, and our very own Camp Arnaz will be one of the work sites. We will be working to restore the apple orchard and surrounding environs, including projects in landscaping and painting. Watch the GSCCC Events Calendar, and participate as an individual or a troop!

Whether you are a new or experienced Leader, please join us for training and networking. Events will be posted on the GSCCC Events Calendar – registration will open in August.

  • Saturday, October 17 – San Luis Obispo
  • Saturday, October 24 – Castroville
FALL PRODUCT SALE PROGRAM BEGINS OCTOBER 1 
Stay Calm and Stand Tall is this year’s theme. Vendors Trophy Nut and M2 Media return with a
couple of new products (nuts, candy, magazines). This is an opportunity for troops to start the year learning the 5 Skills of Financial Literacy while earning funds for supplies and activities. 
Service Unit Product Sale Chair Training will be August 24-26. (details announced at SU Team Forums)
Troop Level Training will be between September 7-18.  Troop Leaders, please be sure to select a volunteer to facilitate Fall Sales for your troop. Your Service Unit Chair will be coordinating training days in your area. It is important that your troop representative attend to receive forms and instructions on the online Troop Nuts Ordering System (TNOS).
